One UI 7 Update for Galaxy S24 Expected Delayed Arrival in the United States

Samsung is set to launch One UI 7 in the United States on April 10, just three days after its debut in Korea. The initial rollout will be for flagship models, including the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, and Flip 5, while users in Europe will not see the update until after April 7.

After a protracted wait, Samsung confirmed that One UI 7 would start rolling out in April. Earlier this week, the company outlined a specific release schedule, indicating that the update would become available on April 7.

However, U.S. users will need to be patient as they will not gain access to Android 15 until April 10. In an announcement via its U.S. newsroom, Samsung indicated that the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 would also receive the update starting on April 10.

The rollout will occur gradually across additional Galaxy devices in the following weeks, but the timing may vary depending on the carrier and the necessary testing procedures. Consequently, some users may experience delays beyond the announced dates.

Samsung’s announcement suggests that the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, and Flip 5 will be among the first to receive Android 15, while other models like the Galaxy S22 and A55 may face longer wait times. Similarly, a release note in Samsung’s European newsroom stated that One UI 7 would initiate on April 7 for 2024 flagship devices in Korea and then shortly thereafter in Europe.

This indicates that European users, much like their U.S. counterparts, will have to wait a few extra days for their update. The prolonged wait for Android 15 has left many Samsung Galaxy users feeling frustrated.

Historically, Samsung has been one of the first manufacturers to provide updates for its flagship devices. However, the lengthy delay associated with One UI 7 and Android 15 has been unusual, especially since the update is arriving nearly seven months after Google released the operating system for Pixel devices.

Despite One UI 7 being a substantial update that introduces significant changes and innovative features, many believe the delay is hard to justify.
