Samsung has officially announced the rollout of One UI 7 in the United States, set to begin on April 10. This software update will first be available for the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. This announcement comes after a period of uncertainty when the company initially scheduled the rollout for April 7 but later retracted that date for US devices.
Beginning April 10, Samsung plans to expand the update to more devices in the following weeks. Upcoming devices that will receive the update include the Galaxy S23 series, as well as the Tab S10 and Tab S9 series tablets. One UI 7 is seen as Samsung’s most ambitious software update to date, introducing various new features aimed at improving user experience.
Notably, it will incorporate a “Now Bar” on the lock screen, providing real-time updates without the need to unlock the device. Additionally, there are several new AI features, including AI Select, which offers context-aware suggestions for media, Writing Assist for formatting and summarizing text, and Drawing Assist for creative input through sketches and images. Furthermore, One UI 7 boasts extensive integration with Google Gemini, enabling users to control their devices using natural language—arguably enhancing the functionality of the interface.
The initial rollout will include the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, with subsequent updates for devices like the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 expected shortly thereafter. Galaxy users in the United States can look forward to experiencing One UI 7 soon.
