According to 9to5Google, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is expected to launch in the United States in late 2025, priced at $499. Although the exact release date is yet to be announced, the device is already available in several international markets. This pricing positions the Galaxy A56 as a direct competitor to both the iPhone 16e and the upcoming Pixel 9a. At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Samsung provided a preview of its new mid-range lineup, revealing to US consumers the anticipated arrival of the Galaxy A56.
This move marks a change in strategy; last year, Samsung opted not to release the A55 in the US, instead focusing on the Galaxy FE series. However, this time the company is set to introduce the A56 to the American market. The Galaxy A56 distinguishes itself within its lineup with enhanced specifications and additional features. It is equipped with Samsung’s Awesome Intelligence, a lighter version of its Galaxy AI.
Nevertheless, similar to the A36 and A26 models, it does not include the full range of Galaxy AI capabilities. The streamlined AI offers useful functionalities, such as Best Face, which helps correct accidental blinks in photos, and the Object Eraser feature in the Gallery app, enabling users to remove unwanted elements from their images. Visually, the A56 sports a 6.7-inch FullHD+ display with a versatile 60-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and boasts a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use. Powering the device is a 5,000 mAh battery, paired with the Exynos 1580 chip for robust performance.
RAM options range between 6GB and 12GB, depending on the model. The Galaxy A56 5G features a familiar triple-camera arrangement on its rear—50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 5MP macro lens, though a telephoto lens could have enhanced its appeal. The front camera receives an upgrade from the previous 32MP sensor to a 12MP. A new design element, the Key Island, introduces slightly raised power and volume buttons for a distinctive appearance.
Color choices for the A56 include Pink, Olive, Graphite, and Light Gray.
