Samsung is gearing up to unveil its budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, along with the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 at its Unpacked event in July. Recent leaks indicate that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will likely be powered by the Exynos 2400 processor and come equipped with 8GB of RAM. The camera setup is expected to resemble that of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It is important to note that these specifications may differ for the US model, as the leak pertains to the international version.
Dominating the foldable smartphone market, Samsung has established two primary lines of folding devices: the Galaxy Z Flip and the Z Fold. Although the company has been producing foldable phones for several years, they’ve typically been priced in the flagship range. For instance, the Z Flip 6 started at $1,100, while the Z Fold 6 was priced at $1,900. In contrast, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 was launched at $799, allowing customers to purchase the S25 and have leftover budget compared to the starting prices of Samsung’s 2024 foldables.
Other brands, like Motorola with its mid-range Razr, have already entered this market gap. However, Samsung is stepping up and expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE during the upcoming Unpacked event, along with the traditional Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7, and even a trifold model. The leak confirms the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will utilize the Exynos 2400E chipset, similar to the one found in the mid-range Galaxy S24 FE. Unlike its predecessor, which featured 12GB of RAM, the new foldable is expected to come with 8GB.
While additional details about battery capacity, storage options, and pricing remain undisclosed, the camera setup will reportedly include a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP front-facing camera.
