Samsung Galaxy A55 Enters One UI 7 Beta Testing Phase

Samsung has initiated the beta testing for One UI 7 on the Galaxy A55 in South Korea, expanding its program to include this popular mid-range device. Users can participate in the beta through the Samsung Members app, with limited slots available. While the rollout has just begun, a stable version of One UI 7 for the Galaxy A55 is likely still several weeks away.

In addition to the Galaxy A55, Samsung is also preparing to launch the stable One UI 7 build for its upcoming flagship devices, the Galaxy S24 series and Z Fold 6/Flip 6. The expansion of the One UI 7 beta program was first announced in early March, indicating that the Galaxy A55 would be included alongside other flagship models. However, a beta build for this mid-range phone was delayed compared to its counterparts.

Now that beta testing has commenced for the Galaxy A55 in South Korea, there are plans to extend the program further to regions such as India and the UK. Unfortunately, since the Galaxy A55 did not officially launch in the US, there won’t be a beta program available there. For users in South Korea, it is essential to note that a Wi-Fi connection is required to download the beta firmware.

Given the newness of the beta testing, it is improbable that the stable One UI 7 firmware will be released on the previously anticipated date of April 7. Users can expect several weeks of testing to address any issues before the stable version is made available. While One UI 7 introduces several features from the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy A55 may only receive visual updates and minor enhancements due to hardware limitations.
