The Beta Amazon App Now Allows Purchases of Products Beyond What’s Typically Sold on Amazon

Amazon has introduced a new feature called Buy for Me, designed to help users purchase products that are not available directly on its platform. This innovation allows customers to make purchases through the Amazon Shopping app, even for items that are sold on other retail stores. Currently, Buy for Me is being tested in a beta phase for select users in the United States.

The Buy for Me feature enables shoppers to view not only products available on Amazon but also relevant items from various external retailers. These alternative products are displayed in a dedicated section of search results labeled ‘Shop brand sites directly.’ When users click on one of these items, they will be directed to a product page that resembles the familiar layout of Amazon’s listings.

By selecting the *Buy for me* button, customers can easily process their purchases using Amazon’s payment and shipping information, streamlining the buying experience. It’s important to note that while Buy for Me orders will appear in the user’s Amazon purchase history, customer service and return processes will be managed by the respective brand store. This means customers will need to reach out to the external retailer for any issues related to their orders.

Amazon has indicated that the Buy for Me feature is currently available to a limited number of users on both iOS and Android devices. The company plans to expand the feature based on user feedback, eventually offering it to a broader audience and incorporating additional brand stores and products. With promising prospects for its expansion, Buy for Me could soon become a convenient tool for Amazon shoppers looking for a wider variety of products.
