Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 7 update for its Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 models in South Korea. This update is a significant leap forward, introducing major user interface changes and new features. Users of the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, and Flip 6 can expect to receive the stable One UI 7 update later this month. The anticipation for Galaxy S24 users has finally come to an end as Samsung fulfills its promise of releasing the stable Android 15-based One UI 7.
This update is now available not only for the 2024 flagship smartphone but also for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. Currently, the update is being rolled out in South Korea for both regular users and those in the beta program, with a broader release planned in the coming weeks. Samsung has confirmed that the stable One UI 7 build will be available for its flagship phones in the U.S. starting April 10 and in Canada on April 11. Users who have been testing the One UI 7 beta can proceed with installing the stable firmware through Settings, leading to a download of around 400 to 455MB, varying by device.
In contrast, Galaxy S24 users transitioning from stable One UI 6 to One UI 7 will face a larger download of about 5.2GB. The One UI 7 update introduces a redesign that enhances the experience on Galaxy devices with improved system animations and new icons. Emphasizing a smoother and more polished UI, Samsung has focused on accommodating one-handed use. Users will notice a separation of the notification panel and Quick Settings, a change inspired by the iPhone, though the option to revert to the previous layout remains available.
Additionally, after the update, Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 users will access several features from the next Galaxy S25, including Log video recording, an accessible Gemini feature, Audio Eraser, natural language search in settings, and Call recording summaries. More updates for the Galaxy S23 lineup, Z Fold 5, and Flip 6 will follow soon as Samsung prepares to unveil the final version.
