US Customers May Face Longer Wait Times for the S25 Edge Smartphone Release

The Galaxy S25 Edge is set for an online-only launch event on May 13. Initially, the much-anticipated phone will be available exclusively in South Korea and China. Sporting a slim design, the device features a 6.6-inch display and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Samsung has generated significant interest in the Galaxy S25 Edge since it was first teased earlier this year during the release of the Galaxy S25 series in January. It was also showcased at various events, including MWC 2025. While there were earlier rumors of a mid-April launch, a recent delay has pushed the expected release date to mid-May.

According to reputable leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to hit the market in late May, though it’s important to note that U.S. customers may need to wait longer. The initial launch markets will consist solely of South Korea and China, with no immediate confirmation for release in the U.S. or Europe. However, the announcement indicates that these two countries will serve as the “first release areas,” hinting at a possibility of a broader rollout in the future.

Upon its release, the Galaxy S25 Edge will become the fourth device in the Galaxy S25 lineup. This smartphone is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 “Air,” which is expected to launch later this year. The S25 Edge is projected to be just 5.8mm thick while still incorporating significant features such as a large display, dual rear cameras, and a robust battery life.

It’s expected to be positioned between the S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of price, and while pricing details have emerged for European markets, it’s not yet clear when international customers will be able to purchase the device.
