In a recent update, a OnePlus spokesperson informed Android Police that there is no further information available regarding the company’s latest product pricing. This silence hints at a possible connection between the price increase and the worsening trade relations between the US and China, along with the implementation of tariffs. The OnePlus Watch 3 faced a delay in its launch to April due to a significant engraving error discovered by early buyers, which incorrectly stated “Meda in China” instead of the intended “Made in China.”
Although the revised watch has now officially launched in the US, it is currently listed on OnePlus’ website for an unexpected price of $499.99—substantially higher than the intended price of $330. While the OnePlus Watch 2 has been celebrated for its upgrades, the Watch 3 introduces improvements that are less dramatic in comparison. Key features include a sharper display, enhanced memory, and NFC support, setting a high bar from its predecessor.
Unfortunately, the pricing error detracts from the new wearable’s debut. The discrepancy in pricing has raised eyebrows. Initially listed at $330, the OnePlus website now displays the watch at $500, a staggering increase of $170.
This price is consistently shown throughout the site, further complicating buyer confidence. Even attempts to apply discounts result in prices well above the intended retail price. As the trade war between the US and China escalates, OnePlus may find itself affected by increased tariffs.
With recent changes raising China’s tariff rate to 145%, buyers await clarification from OnePlus. Consumers are advised to hold off on purchases until the company addresses these pricing concerns to avoid unexpected charges.
