Samsung has paused the global rollout of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24, citing the emergence of a significant bug. This move also affects the stable firmware releases for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in Korea and Europe. Following the resolution of the bug, Samsung is expected to release a revised build for these impacted devices. The rollout of the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series commenced last week in South Korea, Europe, and the US, after extensive testing that included six beta builds.
Given the extensive preparations, many expected the final firmware to work smoothly. Unfortunately, this has not been the case, as a critical bug discovered in the stable release has compelled Samsung to suspend the global rollout. Reports indicate that the stable One UI 7 build for the Galaxy S24 has been removed from Samsung’s servers. Noted leaker @UniverseIce has shared insights into this setback, confirming the discovery of a serious bug within the Galaxy S24’s firmware in Korea.
The specifics of the bug remain unclear, but it was significant enough to halt the already delayed One UI 7 rollout. In addition to the Galaxy S24, the Android 15 release for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 has also been halted. For users who have already installed the stable One UI 7 firmware, Samsung plans to issue an updated version once the issue is resolved. The delay in the rollout may also impact other Galaxy devices.
With the lengthy wait for stable Android 15, the ongoing setbacks exacerbate the frustration for Galaxy users who have been eager to upgrade for over six months. Although One UI 7 promises an enhanced experience, these delays challenge the justification for the extended wait.
