Samsung rolls out stable One UI 7 update for Galaxy S23 and S24 FE devices

Samsung has begun the rollout of the stable One UI 7 firmware for the Galaxy S24 FE, S23, and Tab S10 series. Currently, the update is live in South Korea, and it encompasses an impressive size of over 5GB. The release follows a series of hiccups in the rollout process, marking a significant moment for the company as it attempts to deliver a polished user experience akin to that of iOS. The One UI 7 update is particularly noteworthy as it represents Samsung’s most comprehensive revamp of its Android skin in years.

However, the focus has often been on the delays associated with the update rather than the enhancements it incorporates. Previously, the Galaxy S24’s initial One UI 7 firmware was temporarily halted due to significant bugs, prompting Samsung to roll out a revised version just last week. Now the focus shifts to expanding the Android 15 update to more devices, including the Galaxy S24 FE, Tab S10 series, and Galaxy S23. For users with Galaxy S23 devices who are part of the One UI 7 beta program, the stable update is around 1GB.

For those upgrading directly from One UI 6.1, the update is roughly 5GB. The firmware for the S24 SE and Tab S10 series is estimated to be between 4.9 GB and 5.2 GB and includes the April 2025 security patch. Although the update is currently limited to South Korea, Samsung is expected to expand availability to other regions in the coming days. Users can check the update’s availability by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their Galaxy devices.

In addition to the Galaxy S23, the Android 15 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 is anticipated to be released by the end of the month in Korea. However, Samsung may take additional time before extending the rollout to other countries, considering the initial setbacks.
