Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge during an event on May 13, 2025. Following this announcement, the new phone will become available for purchase in Korea and China on May 23, with a global release planned for May 30. Notably, the S25 Edge will be Samsung’s slimmest phone to date, measuring only 5.8mm in thickness and powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Interest in the Galaxy S25 Edge has grown since Samsung first teased it at the launch of the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025. It has since appeared at major trade events, including MWC 2025. However, the official confirmation of its launch timeline had been pending until now.
Initial rumors suggested a launch in April, but these were recently refuted. The latest reports, including one from the Korean publication Financial News, indicate that Samsung will officially announce the details at the Galaxy Unpacked event. For those outside of Korea and China, it will be a bit longer before they can get their hands on the device.
The S25 Edge is expected to be available in the US starting May 30. Pricing for the base model, which includes 256GB of storage, is estimated at around 1.5 million won (approximately $1,050 USD). It’s likely the price will be slightly higher in the US due to taxes and other adjustments, positioning the S25 Edge between the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to feature a dual-camera setup on the rear, consistent with earlier demos. As Samsung makes a push into the ultra-thin smartphone market, the S25 Edge is well-timed, especially with Apple’s rumored launch of the iPhone 17 Air later this year. With the unveiling just weeks away, official confirmation from Samsung is expected soon.
