OnePlus Watch 3 Now Features New Permanent Price in the US Post Tariff Concerns

The OnePlus Watch 3 has undergone several price adjustments since its initial launch. Originally set to debut at $330 in the US, the watch’s price skyrocketed to $500 due to trade tensions between the United States and China.

However, with tariffs on Chinese-made electronics being lowered, OnePlus has now announced a new price of $350, which remains $20 higher than its original goal. Importantly, customers who paid the inflated price will be eligible for partial refunds.

Spenser Blank, the Head of Marketing & Communications for OnePlus North America, stated that customers who purchased the watch prior to this recent price change will be contacted directly by OnePlus customer service to arrange for refunds. While the company has not explicitly addressed the fluctuations in the watch’s pricing, it has hinted at “ongoing market conditions,” which largely reflect the current state of trade relations between the US and China.

Initially, the tariffs on Chinese goods entering the US were alarmingly high at 145 percent, making imports significantly more expensive. Shortly after these tariffs were enacted, the Trump administration provided exemptions for various consumer electronics, including smartwatches, though these items still face a 20 percent tariff.

Despite this rollercoaster pricing journey, the OnePlus Watch 3 has received positive feedback for its long battery life, lasting up to five days on a single charge. The current price of $350, while still above the original expectation, is considerably easier to accept compared to the previous $500.

Customers affected by the price changes should watch their inboxes for refund information from OnePlus.
