Android 16 Beta 4 marks the final beta version before the stable launch of the operating system, which is set to occur in June. This beta version not only tweaks existing features but also provides insights into enhancements that will come in future updates. One of the most anticipated changes is the redesigned Google account settings menu, which features a vibrant new look. The updated layout will replace the traditional carousel with a vertical list adorned with distinctive icons and improved section views.
The rollout of this colorful redesign is expected to coincide with a similar refresh of the system settings. However, it’s likely that these changes will arrive in a future Feature Drop rather than the initial Android 16 stable release. As April draws to a close, excitement builds, as May stands between users and the much-anticipated stable version of Android 16. The operating system achieved platform stability with the release of Beta 3 in March, followed by Beta 4, which delivered refinements and bug fixes.
The new design changes significantly enhance usability, with the Google account settings now featuring a dedicated page for My Activity. This section allows users to easily navigate through their “Web & App Activity, YouTube History, and Location History.” Additionally, the current Security setting has been renamed to “Security & Sign-in.” While the main screen of Google account management has been visually upgraded, the details for each setting have also been refined, with the Personal Info section now presenting information in rounded bubbles for a more modern feel. At this time, it remains uncertain if the UI enhancements will be part of the upcoming stable release.
It appears likely that the redesign will debut alongside the refreshed system settings in a future Feature Drop following the initial launch.
