Samsung has released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A54, a popular mid-range phone in the US. This update introduces a range of new features, including revamped app icons, animations, widgets, and enhanced AI capabilities. It marks an important development for users, as One UI 9 will be the final major update for the Galaxy A54. The One UI 7 update is based on Android 15 and has already reached several flagship devices, including the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Samsung began rolling out these updates a few months ago and aimed to complete the process by the end of July. The Galaxy A54 started receiving the update in international markets before it was announced for the US. At this stage, One UI 7 is rolling out to carrier-locked Galaxy A54 handsets in the US. This update, which requires around 3.5GB of data to download, comes with the firmware version “A546USQUBDYE5” and includes the May 2025 security patch, enhancing the device’s security.
Currently, the update is available for users on Metro PCS, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Cricket Wireless, and Tracfone. Those on other carriers or with unlocked devices are advised to stay tuned for more updates. The features included in One UI 7 enhance the user experience significantly. In addition to updated visuals, users can expect new animations, a Now Bar, and improved AI integration.
Looking ahead, Galaxy A54 users will also look forward to the One UI 8 update, expected to be released this summer, following the flagship phones’ update schedule. Moreover, the Galaxy A54 will receive the One UI 9 update and continue to get security updates for two additional years.
