Google has officially rebranded its Find My Device feature to Find Hub, marking a significant step in achieving cohesive branding across its services and applications. With this change fully rolled out, users can now access Find Hub within the Device finders section of their Android settings, located under Security & Privacy.
From this section, users can seamlessly launch the Find Hub app or navigate to the Find Hub website. This rebranding reflects Google’s ongoing struggle with consistent branding.
Historically, the company has frequently renamed its features and products, creating confusion for users. However, with Find Hub, it appears that Google is finally committing to a unified approach.
The standalone app, which comes pre-installed on Pixel devices, now shares its name with the feature in the security settings, minimizing any potential confusion. Despite the positive strides in branding, some features remain absent from Find Hub.
A recent check revealed that ultra-wideband (UWB) precision finding, which was expected to be integrated last month, is still not available. Testing the feature with a Pixel 9 Pro and Moto Tag confirmed its absence, disappointing some users who were looking forward to enhanced location tracking capabilities.
To access the newly named Find Hub in your Android settings, navigate to Security & Privacy and click on Device finders. The screen will indicate whether Find Hub is active, along with options to launch the app or visit its webpage.
If the Find Hub app is not already installed on your device, users can easily download it from the relevant widget. Overall, the introduction of Find Hub demonstrates Google’s effort to streamline its branding while still working toward enhancing functionality.
