It appears that the rebranding has introduced a fresh name: “Magic Cue.” According to leaker Mystic Leaks, the tool will be entirely optional, allowing users to activate it manually through relevant settings.
The setup screen promotes the assistant with the message, “Get helpful info and actions, right when you need them.”
Magic Cue is designed to utilize artificial intelligence to provide contextual suggestions based on the apps users are engaging with. For instance, if someone in a chat requests your flight number, Magic Cue can retrieve that information directly from your Gmail, eliminating the need for a tedious search.
This makes Magic Cue a more proactive iteration of the existing Gemini Assistant. While the precise user interface remains unclear, it seems that suggested actions will appear as prompts directly from the Pixel’s status bar, allowing for a seamless interaction.
Unlike Gemini, which requires manual requests from users, Magic Cue aims to serve relevant information proactively. Additionally, the setup screen outlines how Magic Cue functions, leveraging app usage data while emphasizing user privacy.
Users will have control over which apps can feed data into Magic Cue, including Gmail, Calendar, and more. The app promises that all processed data will remain on-device, further safeguarding user information.
