Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leak Indicates Potential for Remarkably Slim Design

Samsung is poised to introduce its latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, in just a few days. Recent leaks have shed light on these devices, revealing their specifications and design details from multiple perspectives.

Notably, Samsung has announced that the Z Fold 7 will be thinnest and lightest foldable it has created. A recent leak has provided specifics about its thickness.

According to the Chinese leaker Setsuna Digital on Weibo, the Z Fold 7 will be only 8.9mm thick when folded and an impressive 4.2mm when unfolded. In comparison, the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.1mm when folded and 5.6mm when opened.

If this information is accurate, Samsung will achieve a reduction of 3.2mm in thickness over just one generation, making the Z Fold 7 one of the slimmest foldables globally, and the thinnest available in the U.S.

Additionally, the upcoming foldable is expected to weigh just 215g, which is 24g lighter than the Z Fold 6 and even 3g lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This reduction in weight is remarkable considering that the Z Fold 7 will feature a larger 6.5-inch external cover screen and an 8-inch internal display.

The leaked specifications also suggest a glass ceramic back, a Snapdragon 8 Elite ‘for Galaxy’ processor, a 10MP front camera with a 100-degree field of view, and a main rear camera boasting 200MP. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also set to impress with its slim profile.

It is expected to measure 13.7mm when folded and 6.5mm when unfolded, which is thinner than its predecessor, the Z Flip 6. Despite its reduced dimensions, it will have a larger 4,300mAh battery, a 300mAh increase from the Flip 6.

The Flip 7 will feature a 4.1-inch cover display with a narrow border and a larger internal screen of 6.9 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio, both sporting a 120Hz refresh rate and capable of reaching brightness levels of 2,600 nits. Samsung will officially unveil these devices along with several others on July 9, 2025, which is just around the corner.
