Samsung’s Galaxy S26 May Introduce a New Advanced AI Chatbot Feature

Samsung is exploring new possibilities for AI integration in its Galaxy flagship devices, notably the upcoming Galaxy S26. Although Google Gemini currently enjoys a prominent place in several high-profile Android devices, including Samsung’s own models, the company is actively considering alternatives.

Recently, it was reported that Samsung has been in discussions with Perplexity AI to integrate their services into future devices. Choi Won-Joon, the president and chief operating officer of Samsung’s MX division, confirmed these discussions and noted that they are engaging with multiple AI vendors, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Perplexity.

He mentioned that Samsung is open to any AI agent that can deliver competitive and superior user experiences. While this statement doesn’t finalize any partnerships, earlier reports indicated that Samsung was close to finalizing a deal with Perplexity, demonstrating ongoing interest in the AI landscape.

The conversation regarding Perplexity began as early as April, when reports highlighted the potential for its integration into Samsung devices. The recent consideration of OpenAI implies that Samsung may pursue a multi-agent strategy for AI assistance in its products.

This leads to questions about the future of Bixby AI, Samsung’s existing digital assistant, which had recently received significant updates, including a custom large language model. As the launch of the Galaxy S26 series approaches, more details on these AI integrations are expected to emerge.

Additionally, Samsung is still evaluating its options in the processor segment, weighing its in-house Exynos 2600 against the forthcoming Qualcomm flagship chip. This exploration signals Samsung’s dedication to enhancing user experience through advanced AI and hardware technologies in its devices.
