Since the merger of Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass, forming Samsung Wallet, the company has successfully created a digital hub for various essential items. Users can now enjoy mobile payments, store loyalty cards, transit passes, and even digital car keys all in one convenient app.
As the platform develops, Samsung remains dedicated to enhancing user experience. Recent updates to Samsung Wallet, specifically version 6.0.85, introduce two significant changes that improve functionality.
The first enhancement comes with support for One UI 7’s new Now Bar, enabling users to receive real-time updates on travel plans. This means you can keep tabs on your flight status or check if your train is running late.
Of course, for this feature to work, transit providers must offer status updates for the passes stored in the app. Encouragingly, SamMobile reports that passes from ConfirmTkt, an Indian railway ticket service, are already compatible with this feature.
The second change may add a bit of fun to the app experience. When you swipe down on a card or pass, Samsung Wallet displays a vertical list of your stored items, enhanced by a lively new animation.
This animation showcases the cards playfully organizing into a scrollable stack, making the interface more visually appealing. Samsung’s commitment to improving Wallet suggests that we can anticipate more updates in the future.
Recently, the company has expanded support to include digital car keys from both Mercedes and earlier additions from Volvo and Polestar. With the introduction of digital IDs in various US states, it’s clear that the future may hold a time when Android phones completely replace traditional wallets.
