Google Assistant is set to retire later this year, making way for Gemini to take over its role. Since its inception, Gemini has been characterized by its blue and purple branding. However, there have been recent hints, observed in beta versions, suggesting a shift in this color scheme. Now, Gemini has officially adopted the classic color palette associated with Google, which features red, yellow, green, and blue.
This update aligns with the latest version of Google Gemini, numbered 1.0.776555963, currently available on the Play Store. For those who haven’t received the update yet, it can also be sideloaded from APKMirror. Following the update, users will notice a new Gemini logo in their app drawer. While the overall shape of the logo remains the same, its corners are less sharp than before, and it now showcases Google’s iconic color scheme.
Additionally, the logo that appears alongside the “Just a sec…” prompt while Gemini generates a response still features the original blue and purple hue, but with a new multi-colored outer glow to match the overall refresh. Some other changes are expected in future updates. Though previous leaks hinted that the app’s splash screen and home-screen greeting would also transition to this new look, these updates have not yet been implemented in the current rollout. These adjustments may coincide with the eventual phase-out of Google Assistant.
