Samsung is gearing up for its next-generation foldable devices with the highly anticipated Unpacked event on Wednesday, July 9, in Brooklyn, New York. During this event, the tech giant is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Z Flip 7, along with a potential Fan Edition of the popular clamshell foldable.
In addition to the new foldable models, Samsung is also expected to showcase three wearables, and there may be a surprise reveal of a trifold smartphone. The excitement is building as customers can now take advantage of a pre-reservation offer that grants a $50 credit towards their purchase, encouraging early buyers to secure their interests in these flagship devices.
The event is scheduled to kick off at 10 AM ET, with pre-orders for the new products going live five hours later, at 3 PM ET. This aligns with past launch strategies, giving consumers a short window of approximately 15 days to utilize their pre-order credits before the devices officially hit shelves on July 25.
Notably, a promotional banner that highlighted the new foldables briefly appeared online before being taken down following a copyright notice. Despite its removal, it hinted at Samsung’s commitment to a thinner design for their new foldables, along with advanced Galaxy AI capabilities that are expected to be a focal point during the Unpacked presentation.
Lastly, there’s buzz around a new naming convention for Samsung’s wearables, particularly the smartwatch referred to as ‘#GalaxyWatch8Ultra2025.’ This indicates Samsung may be adding the series number to the Ultra variant, which differs from previous naming strategies.
Whether this is an intentional change or a slip remains to be seen.
