First Leak of Google Pixel Buds 2a Reveals Unexpected Color Variation for Current Model

Reports indicate that Google is set to announce the Pixel 10 lineup in mid-August. While much attention has been focused on the upcoming smartphones, recent leaks suggest that a new pair of budget earbuds might debut alongside them.

Additionally, a new color option for the flagship Pixel Buds is anticipated. A post on X by leaker @MysteryLupin claims that Google will release the Pixel Buds 2a in four colors: Hazel, Strawberry, Iris, and Fog Light.

This marks the first time any leak has directly mentioned the existence of the Buds 2a. Unfortunately, the post lacked additional information regarding the earbuds’ features or specifications.

The Pixel Buds A-Series, which debuted in June 2021, have been due for an update. Given MysteryLupin’s reliable history with product leaks, there’s good reason to take these claims seriously.

The previous version received positive reviews for offering substantial improvements over earlier versions at an appealing price point. However, the earbud market has evolved significantly, with many affordable options now providing features such as Advanced Noise Cancellation (ANC) and multipoint connectivity.

Consumers are hoping that the Pixel Buds 2a will address these limitations and enhance battery life. Additionally, @MysteryLupin has indicated that Google may refresh the Pixel Buds Pro 2 with a new Sterling color, a light gray shade.

The original Buds Pro, released in August 2024, came in four colors: Charcoal, Porcelain, Aloe, and Hot Pink. As the anniversary of their launch approaches, this new color variant could be a timely update.

While its predecessors offered six color options, the new release will still be available in one fewer color. As the potential launch date of August 20 approaches, more leaks regarding the Pixel Buds 2a are expected to emerge.
