Samsung is set to host its summer Unpacked event on July 9, where all eyes will be on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also making waves, showcasing impressive features ahead of its release.
Recent leaks reveal first-party cases for both devices, offering insights into Samsung’s accessory strategy and some interesting hardware choices. Starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it’s clear that Samsung is aiming for a blend of style and functionality.
The popular Clear Case returns, designed with a protective lip around the camera module and accommodating cutouts for the fingerprint-integrated power button and traditional volume controls. Priced around $40, it maintains the familiar ring design.
One intriguing reveal is the clear MagSafe-style case, which features embedded magnets. This suggests that neither the Flip 7 nor the Fold 7 will support Qi2-compatible magnets natively.
This approach mirrors Apple’s accessory strategy, where the accessories are prioritized over built-in compatibility. Another exciting option is the Kind Suit, Samsung’s premium faux leather case, available in new colors such as black, taupe, and camel.
It is expected to retail for about $99. For a more vibrant choice, the Silicone Ring Case is back, offering playful colors such as black, blue, coral red, and mint, priced at $40.
It features a central ring for improved grip. Moving to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a series of case renders confirms a similar approach.
The usual clear case provides minimal back protection for €49, while a stripped-down grip case bumps the price to €53. Additional options include a clear magnet case and a redesigned Silicone Case, which now omits the front cover but retains a kickstand for €69.
The premium Carbon Shield case, featuring carbon fiber styling, comes with an elevated price of €89. Samsung appears to be heavily investing in accessories this cycle, particularly with magnet-equipped cases that facilitate compatibility with next-gen wireless accessories.
Pre-registration for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 is available, along with a $50 credit and triple reward points for early buyers.
