In just a few days, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is anticipated to be its slimmest and lightest foldable smartphone to date. Leaks have already disclosed a wealth of information about this new model, highlighting features such as its larger display sizes and an updated rear camera setup. Recent hands-on photos have surfaced, showcasing the device’s sleek design, particularly in the stunning Blue Shadow finish.
Samsung is gearing up for an exciting Galaxy Unpacked event, where alongside the Z Fold 7, the company plans to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8, and additional Galaxy devices. Customers can pre-reserve now to receive a $50 credit that can be applied to their purchase. The leaked images reveal the Fold 7’s impressive larger cover display, expansive inner screen, and ultra-thin profile.
Samsung has confirmed that it will be more streamlined than its predecessor, the Z Fold 6, and even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, while the Z Fold 7 is set to be one of the slimmest foldables available in the U.S., it will not hold the title globally, as the Vivo X Fold 5 and Honor Magic V5 are already thinner and lighter, though they will not be sold in the U.S. market. The hands-on photos appear to have been taken shortly after the device’s unboxing, suggesting they belong to an early retail unit.
The luxurious Blue Shadow color adds to its appealing aesthetic, making it a potential favorite for buyers. In terms of protection, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will maintain the same IP68 rating as the Fold 6, providing limited dust resistance and the ability to withstand submersion in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Additionally, the Fold 7 is expected to have an estimated battery life of approximately 40 hours and 28 minutes, although actual usage may see shorter performance periods.
The July 9th Unpacked event promises to be an exciting showcase for Samsung’s latest innovations.
