The release date for Google’s Pixel 9a has been officially announced, following a last-minute delay. The smartphone will launch on April 10th in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with other regions set to follow shortly after. Despite some concerns surrounding its design and specifications, the early impressions of the Pixel 9a have been largely positive. Originally scheduled for release on March 26th, the launch was postponed due to an unforeseen “component quality issue”.
However, Google has now confirmed that the Pixel 9a is ready for release. The device is attracting attention for its promising features, especially at a competitive price point of $500. In an update shared on their support forums, Google outlined the new launch dates across different regions. The schedule is as follows:
– April 10th: US, Canada, UK
– April 14th: Various European countries, including Germany, France, and Italy
– April 16th: Australia, India, Singapore, and others
Notably, Japan remains unlisted, with Google indicating that the Pixel 9a will be “coming soon” to the region.
As of now, the Google Store does not offer a pre-order option for the Pixel 9a, displaying a “Get Notified” button instead. Early hands-on impressions highlight the device as a significant advancement for Google, particularly praising its attractive color options. However, some criticisms have emerged regarding its larger bezels and flat frame, which make it appear less modern compared to competitors like the iPhone 16e. If potential buyers prefer not to wait for the Pixel 9a, the standard Pixel 9 is also available, often on sale.
Despite the recent delays, there is hope that the issues affecting the Pixel 9a will not impact overall customer experience.
