YouTube enables select Premium users to share ad-free videos with their friends.

YouTube Premium users have a new feature that allows them to share up to 10 ad-free videos per month with non-Premium users. Each shared video can be viewed without ads up to 10 times before it expires. Currently, this feature is undergoing testing with a select group of Premium subscribers in certain regions, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

YouTube has always been a leading platform for free video streaming, but it often encourages users to upgrade to YouTube Premium. The new sharing option provides non-Premium users with a glimpse of the ad-free experience they could enjoy if they subscribed. However, this sharing opportunity is only available to individuals residing in regions where YouTube Premium is offered.

Once the recipient clicks the link to the shared video, they can watch it in its entirety without interruptions from advertisements. While nearly all types of videos can be shared ad-free, exceptions include music content, YouTube Originals, Shorts, Livestreams, and Movies & Shows. At present, this capability is limited to a small percentage of Premium members, making it an exclusive feature for early testers.

To check if you can use this feature, tap the Share button on any video’s watch page and select the “Share ad-free” option. You can choose how to share the link or simply copy it. It is important to note that the sharing button may be grayed out if you’ve reached your limit or if the content isn’t eligible.

The initiative adds some exciting versatility for Premium subscribers, as the shared ad-free video remains available for up to 30 days. However, viewers need to be signed into their YouTube accounts to access the ad-free content. Although limited in scope currently, the feature shows potential for wider rollout in the future, blending social interaction with the value of the Premium experience.
