The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to be unveiled on April 28 at 14:00 BST (9:00 AM EST), alongside a trio of new audio accessories: the Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus. Anticipation has been building, as Nothing has teased its upcoming smartphone for some time.
However, those hoping for the Nothing Phone 3 will need to be patient, as the focus shifts to the budget-friendly CMF Phone 2 Pro. CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing designed to create accessible devices that feature bold and vibrant designs.
The original CMF Phone 1 launched last year and gained attention for its industrial aesthetic, which included visible screws and a rotating dial, while also delivering solid performance relative to its price. Interestingly, the new model is skipping the straightforward naming convention and will be branded as the CMF Phone 2 Pro.
While the official teasers from Nothing provide limited information, they do confirm the phone’s launch date and introduce the new audio products. Details about the Buds 2 series are still forthcoming, indicating that Nothing is expanding its audio portfolio significantly alongside the new phone.
Design elements from the CMF Phone 1, such as the visible screws, are expected to return in the CMF Phone 2 Pro, which will also feature a “new finish,” possibly suggesting upgraded materials to match its “Pro” designation. Leaked specifications hint that the device will include a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple-camera setup, an upgrade from its predecessor’s dual cameras.
As the launch date approaches, more details regarding potential additional variants, such as a non-Pro CMF Phone 2 or a follow-up to the CMF Watch Pro 2, are likely to emerge.
