Google Calendar Enhances Event Creation Features for Android Users

Google Calendar has introduced a refreshed interface for event creation, which features a carousel displaying all connected calendars prominently on the main screen. This enhancement significantly speeds up the process of adding events to specific sub-calendars within your Google account, eliminating the inconvenience of navigating through separate menus. To access this new carousel layout, users must update their app to version 2025.16.0 or any later builds.

Importantly, this feature does not rely on a server-side switch, meaning that once the app is updated, the carousel will be available immediately. The new design simplifies event scheduling by showcasing all sub-calendars directly on the event creation screen, which can be especially beneficial for individuals who manage multiple calendars under one Google account. In the previous version, users had to tap through a separate menu to select any sub-calendar other than the default “Events” calendar.

The updated layout effectively removes this extra step, presenting sub-calendars in an easily navigable carousel format on the event creation screen. Additionally, the app now remembers the last sub-calendar used, automatically highlighting it for your next event creation, adding a convenient touch to the user experience. While users still need to tap their email or use the adjacent arrow to switch Google accounts, the transition to the carousel layout is linked specifically to certain Google Calendar builds.

Versions 2025.15.1xx and earlier showcase the previous interface, while version 2025.16.0-749613736 and all later builds reflect the new design. Users can easily update their app through the Play Store or via external sources like APKMirror to access the latest features and enhancements.
