Samsung has initiated the rollout of the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for its flagship smartphones from 2021 and 2022 in the US. This includes popular models like the Galaxy S21, S22, Z Fold 3/4, and Flip 3/4 series. The update follows the earlier introduction of One UI 7 for 2023 models and the Galaxy Tab S10 series. It has been reported that this update is approximately 5GB in size and is distributed through carriers.
The rollout of One UI 7 is part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts, with plans to extend this update to more devices, including mid-range Galaxy A series smartphones and additional tablets, slated for May and June. All flagship models released in 2023, such as the S23 series, have already received some version of the One UI 7 update in the US. This latest update commenced about a week after the One UI 7 became available for owners of the Tab S10 series. Samsung has been working to overcome delays in releasing One UI 7, and the availability of the update in Korea for devices like the Galaxy S21 series and Z Fold 3/Flip 3 signifies that the initiative is now firmly underway.
The global rollout for certain models is still anticipated, but it appears that Samsung is progressing ahead of its projected timeline from earlier in the month. Following the current rollout, the focus will shift to tablets and midrange smartphones. In addition, Galaxy S24 FE users in the US are receiving the update, with only the Galaxy S23 FE remaining unupdated among Samsung’s Fan Edition models. S23 FE users, particularly those with carrier-locked devices, should be attentive to potential updates as the situation evolves.
Upcoming updates slated for May include various Galaxy A models and the Galaxy Tab S8 and S9 series, while other models are set to receive the update in June. Eligible users can check for the update via Settings → Software update → Download and install.
