Galaxy Z Flip 7 Expected to Use Snapdragon Globally, Skipping Exynos Model This Time

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but it will reportedly feature the Exynos 2500 chipset exclusively in South Korea. Meanwhile, the global variants of both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This iteration of the Z Flip is expected to see enhancements, including a larger battery and a more expansive cover display. As the Galaxy S25 series becomes available, notably with the recent launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung is now turning its attention towards its upcoming foldable smartphones.

The highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for early July, will offer the first official look at the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Traditionally, Samsung has equipped its Galaxy Z series with Snapdragon chipsets for the global market. In contrast, its S-series has occasionally utilized Exynos processors in specific regions. Recent reports hinted at a potential shift in this approach, suggesting that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might come with the in-house Exynos 2500 chip in countries like India and South Korea.

However, a new report from renowned Samsung leaker Jukanlosreve contradicts this speculation. It states that the Exynos 2500 will be limited to South Korea, while all other markets, including North America, will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is also expected to be the chipset used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 across all regions. The Exynos 2500 is said to be manufactured using Samsung’s 3nm process technology.

Nevertheless, the decision to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the global launch is reassuring, considering its commendable performance in devices like the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13. In addition to chipset improvements, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may feature a larger 4,300 mAh battery, an upgrade from the previous model’s 4,000 mAh. Despite this increase, the thickness of the device is anticipated to remain unchanged. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be notably thinner compared to its predecessor, and the Z Flip 7 is also rumored to have a significantly larger cover display.
