One UI 8 Set to Debut First on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 Devices

One UI 8 is set to make its debut this summer exclusively on Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Following a deliberate rollout strategy similar to that of One UI 7, Samsung aims for its next-generation software to launch alongside these devices, bringing new features and enhancements to users. The collaboration between Samsung and Google has proven vital in the development of One UI 8.

According to Samsung, the partnership has enabled a seamless integration of Android 16, which One UI 8 is based on. After the initial launch on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, the new software is expected to reach more Galaxy devices in the months that follow, likely starting with the Galaxy S25 and then expanding further. For Galaxy S25 owners eager to experience the new features of One UI 8, Samsung has already opened its Android 16 beta program.

This allows users to explore the latest updates and enhancements ahead of the official release. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 may be unveiled in early July, just after the public release of Android 16 in June, positioning One UI 8 as one of the first Android skins to utilize the new OS. The upcoming One UI 8 will also feature various usability improvements.

Notable updates include enhanced support for QR codes and NFC, enabling quick check-ins at service centers through users’ Samsung accounts. The Reminder app is receiving a revamp, adding voice-based input functionality. Additionally, AI-powered enhancements in features like Now Bar and Now Brief will provide users with improved insights.

With Auracast support, users can share audio streams across multiple devices, streamlining the sharing process even further. Samsung is anticipated to provide more details about One UI 8 at the launch event for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in the coming months.
