Samsung has announced that it will begin deleting inactive accounts starting July 31, 2025. Any data associated with these deleted accounts will be permanently removed from the company’s servers. Users are encouraged to log in to their accounts to preserve them before the deletion process commences.
It is common to perceive online accounts as permanent; however, the reality is that even major corporations like Samsung must manage their resources effectively. If you haven’t actively used the company’s services in a while, there’s a significant chance your account may be deleted. We have seen similar actions from other tech giants, such as Google, and now Samsung is following suit by clearing out old, unused accounts.
According to a report from SamMobile, accounts that have been inactive for 24 months will be targeted for deletion. Although there is still some time to act, it is advisable to address this matter promptly. Samsung plans to start the deletion process on July 31, 2025.
Users who may be affected have already been notified, though it’s possible that those who do not regularly monitor their accounts may miss these warnings. Once an account is deleted, all associated data will also be erased from Samsung’s servers. This includes information related to Samsung Cloud, Samsung Wallet, Galaxy Store apps, and Find My Mobile, among others.
If you were considering deleting your Samsung account independently, now may be a good opportunity to log in, review your information, and take action accordingly. Remember, the deletion process starts on July 31, 2025, for accounts that have not been accessed. If you occasionally log into your account, your data will remain safe, and you can disregard this notice.
