Google’s Pixel 10 Series to Feature Darker, Smokier Colorways as Potential Replacements for Old Favorites

The anticipated Pixel 10 series is not projected to bring significant changes to its exterior design. Instead, the primary visual update will stem from Android 16, which promises a comprehensive redesign. One of the most notable adjustments will be in the color options; Google plans to retire the traditional Obsidian and Porcelain hues that have been part of the Pixel lineup for some time. Recent leaks have revealed a range of new color choices for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Some of the freshly confirmed colors include Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, Midnight, Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, and Smoky Green. While the new series is expected to have minimal external changes compared to its predecessors from 2024, recent images of the Pixel 10 Pro indicate that the major transformation will focus on user experience rather than aesthetics. What stands out in this upcoming series is the shift in color options that will mark a departure from the established patterns. Previously reported colorways are now confirmed, with sources indicating that Obsidian and Porcelain will be phased out.

These two color options have been staples since the Pixel 6, but replacements like Midnight and Light Porcelain will not be direct replicas. The reintroduction of blue in the Pixel 10, specifically the color Ultra Blue, may resemble a darker version of the Bay color seen in the Pixel 8 Pro. Limoncello is expected to be a vibrant yellow, while Midnight is theorized to be a darker take on Obsidian. Additionally, colors such as Sterling Gray and Smoky Green are entirely new variants, with the former providing a lighter tone similar to Midnight, and the latter offering a unique twist.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will present two new color options, transitioning from Obsidian and Porcelain to Sterling Gray and Smoky Green, appealing to both traditional and modern tastes. As the unveiling of the Pixel 10 series approaches on August 20, it is wise to approach these preliminary leaks with some caution.
