Samsung Executive Declares Galaxy S25 Edge as the ‘Goldilocks’ Phone for Perfect Specifications and Experience

A Samsung executive has addressed criticism surrounding the Galaxy S25 Edge’s battery life, asserting that it embodies the perfect balance for smartphone users. Despite its few drawbacks, he believes the S25 Edge is ideal for those who prioritize a thin, lightweight phone that can last throughout the day. Measuring just 5.8mm in thickness, the device has a striking design. However, initial sales data indicates that its sleek profile has not captivated consumers as expected.

In an interview with Tom’s Guide, Blake Gaiser, Director of Smartphone Product Management at Samsung Electronics America, responded to concerns about the phone’s performance. He encouraged critics to experience the device firsthand before forming an opinion, emphasizing its capability to deliver flagship-level performance and impressive image quality similar to other Android models. Gaiser claimed that the S25 Edge is tailored for users who desire a fashionable, lightweight device that doesn’t compromise on performance. When questioned about the subpar battery life, Gaiser defended it by asserting that the actual runtime is comparable to the base S25 model.

He stated, “As long as you can live with it from sun up to sun down without any issues, we think that’s a great experience.” Gaiser personally shared that he has not faced difficulties with the phone’s battery life. While Samsung had the option to implement a higher-density silicon carbide battery, they opted for a lithium-ion cell. Gaiser noted that advancements in efficiency brought by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip led the company to stick with the existing battery technology.

However, critics argue that Gaiser’s defense does not sufficiently address the Galaxy S25 Edge’s limitations. While the device boasts appealing design features, its average battery life, likely to diminish with future software updates, may overshadow its other merits, as reflected by disappointing sales figures.
