Samsung has introduced a new e-ink product, the 32-inch Color E-Paper digital signage display. This innovative model features QHD resolution, offers over 500 days of battery life, and is easy to control using an intuitive app.
A key aspect of Samsung’s launch is its commitment to sustainability, which includes using paper-based packaging and covers made from recycled plastics. E-ink technology has improved to the point where displays are almost indistinguishable from traditional paper.
This technology eliminates reflections and glare, while also providing excellent visibility under sunlight, making it suitable for various applications where conventional displays falter. With these advantages in mind, Samsung is positioning itself as a competitor in the e-paper market with its Samsung Color E-Paper, targeting enterprise customers.
Earlier this year, Samsung also introduced a 75-inch version of this product, but it has mainly focused on the 32-inch Color E-Paper model (EM32DX) for the mass market. Like all e-ink displays, the panel consumes no power when showing static content, thanks to its built-in 4,600 mAh battery.
This allows the display to last up to 500 days on a single charge, making it particularly appealing for various signage needs. Even when updating content, the power consumption remains low.
The display boasts a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and utilizes E Ink’s Spectra 6 panel, enhanced by Samsung’s color imaging algorithm for greater accuracy and readability. Weighing just 2.5 kg and with a thickness of 17.9 mm, it can be used in various settings.
Notably, it includes 13.9 mm bezels on all sides, two USB Type-C ports, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 8GB of storage. The Samsung Color E-Paper can be controlled through the Samsung E-Paper app on Android and iOS, and businesses can monitor and manage it remotely using the Samsung VXT platform.
Samsung holds a commanding 34.6% share of the digital signage market, and even at its scale, it prioritizes sustainability with its eco-conscious packaging and materials. The 32-inch Samsung Color E-Paper display is available for $1,350, with a reduced price of $1,200 for bulk orders of over 150 units, with deliveries starting in mid-June.
