Additionally, Samsung is likely to introduce new additions to its foldable lineup, such as the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip FE, providing consumers with more choices in the foldable smartphone market. This year promises to be eventful for Samsung with growing rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold Ultra.
Recent findings suggest that the company may be hinting at the upcoming models by casually revealing their official names in various contexts. For instance, an official Samsung teaser image was named “Galaxy-Z-Fold7-Z-Flip7-Pre-tease-Bartype_1920x1080.gif,” indicating a clear continuation of the naming scheme since the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip. Further confirmation comes from a special “Samsung Internet Browser for Fold7 and Flip7” listed on the Galaxy Store. While the consistency in naming is not surprising, there are hints of significant changes across the Galaxy Z lineup.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have a notably slimmer design, measuring just 4.94mm when unfolded, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s thickness of 5.6mm. However, there are concerns that this reduction in size might affect battery life. Nevertheless, this aligns with Samsung’s trend of creating slimmer devices, as seen in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. On the other hand, the Z Flip 7 might prioritize display size over width reduction, with leaks suggesting a significantly larger outer display.
This could position Samsung more competitively against devices like the Moto Razr+, which has made strides with a 4-inch outer display. Finally, the introduction of both the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE model indicates a strategic expansion of Samsung’s foldable offerings. This diversification could fill a gap in the market that currently lacks a budget-friendly foldable option.
