In late May, Samsung initiated the One UI 8 beta program based on Android 16 for its Galaxy S25 series. The initial release introduced minor changes but incorporated many new features from Android 16 into the flagship device. Shortly after, the company launched the second One UI 8 beta and widened its public testing program to additional countries.
Initially, the first One UI 8 beta was made available in South Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US, catering to both unlocked and T-Mobile variants. However, with the arrival of the second beta, Samsung expanded its testing program to include India, Poland, and select other European nations. Participants in these new regions can expect to receive the ZYF3 build as their first Android 16 beta firmware, while existing S25 owners in the program will receive a substantial update weighing in at nearly 1.3GB.
The ZYF3 build comes with numerous bug fixes addressing issues such as text alignment problems in Now Brief, Bluetooth volume difficulties in car infotainment systems, and widget sizing on the lock screen. Additionally, a key feature in this update is the integration of the Text to Image capability directly within the Samsung Keyboard, which now automatically saves generated images for future use. For Galaxy S25 users in India and Poland, joining the One UI 8 beta program is streamlined through the Samsung Members app.
Samsung has simplified the enrollment process so users only need to join the program once, regardless of the number of devices they own. However, slots for the public testing are limited, so prompt enrollment is advised. Finally, Samsung has confirmed that One UI 8 will debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
Although no release date for these new foldables is confirmed, reports indicate a possible launch in early July. Consequently, Galaxy S25 owners may still have some waiting to do before accessing the stable version of Android 16.
