Gemini offers a variety of ways to enhance productivity, thanks to its advanced accessibility features. Users can utilize gestures or a dedicated button to launch the app overlay and begin their tasks efficiently. One of the most appealing aspects of Gemini is its continual improvement, as Google frequently adds new functionalities, often unveiling features just days after their release.
While some changes may appear minor, they significantly influence how users interact with Gemini. A noteworthy update for the Android version has introduced a voice feature that particularly benefits music enthusiasts. Previously, Gemini had the capability to see, hear, and comprehend video clips, but now it can also recognize tunes through vocal input.
The new voice skill allows users to identify songs by humming or singing. As reported by 9to5Google, users can simply ask, “What song is this?” A full-screen interface will prompt them to “Play, sing, or hum a song…” to provide the best results from Google Search.
This interface displays match percentages, helping users find the most likely song they are referencing, with the highest-scoring tune appearing at the top of the list. If the first attempt does not yield satisfactory results, users can try again. This functionality is adapted from the Google app, which features a song search button on its homepage.
In contrast, Gemini users need to type a prompt every time they exit the full-screen interface to access the Song Search feature. Although the accuracy level remains consistent with that of the Google app, the necessity for typing prompts may be a minor inconvenience. Currently, this feature is exclusive to Gemini on Android, as similar prompts do not function correctly on the iOS version.
While there has been no official confirmation from Google regarding its availability for iOS users, it is anticipated that this feature could be introduced in the future.
