Recently, Google has surprised us once again with its ongoing updates to the Gemini app, based in Mountain View, California. Following the introduction of Song Search and support for Scheduled Actions on the Android Gemini app, the company is now making visual changes to the app, giving it a more recognizable Google-centric appearance. The app’s previously dominant blue and purple color scheme is being replaced with a vibrant palette reminiscent of Google Assistant’s iconic multicolored branding. Clues about this redesign were uncovered in the latest beta version of the Google app, which featured Google’s signature colors integrated within the Gemini app’s user interface.
These design updates are particularly visible in the app’s splash screen, which now showcases an animated Gemini logo adorned with red, yellow, green, and blue colors each time the app starts. Similarly, the onboarding screen also exhibits this fresh Google-themed color scheme. Observant users may have already noticed that the familiar blue and purple tones have disappeared from the “Get to know Gemini, your AI assistant” text at the top, along with the logo that accompanies the AI tool’s responses. While these modifications may seem minor and won’t drastically alter how users interact with the Gemini app, they do help create a more cohesive experience aligned with Google’s overall branding.
It’s important to note that these changes have been manually activated and users may not see them right away in the beta build. Wider availability is expected with a future update, likely coinciding with the complete transition away from Google Assistant later this year.
