Samsung has gained a reputation for producing quality wireless earbuds, with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro being particularly noteworthy for its impressive sound quality and seamless integration with other Galaxy devices. However, if you’re looking for a more affordable option, the company also offers the budget-friendly Galaxy Buds FE, priced at around $100. Despite their affordability, these earbuds are now somewhat dated, having been released in late 2023.
Anticipation is building for a new budget-friendly model from Samsung, expected to launch as soon as this week. The Galaxy Buds Core have been teased through Samsung’s app in select countries, and a mishap at MediaMarkt Turkey revealed their design and available colors: black and white. The leaked images show a design closely resembling the Buds FE, following the same aesthetic as Samsung’s earlier Buds 2 models.
For users who prefer a different look from the stem-style design of the Buds 3, the Buds Core presents a compelling alternative. These upcoming earbuds are set to feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Galaxy AI integration, offering capabilities like Live Translate and Interpreter mode. Each earbud weighs 5.3 grams, making them slightly lighter than the Buds FE.
Additionally, the Buds Core will have an IP54 rating, indicating improved dust and splash resistance compared to the IPX2 rating of the Buds FE. One significant upgrade in the Buds Core is their battery capacity, featuring a 500mAh case and 100mAh batteries in each earbud, promising extended usage time. Samsung is anticipated to officially unveil the Galaxy Buds Core with a release on June 27, 2025, in India, as teased on Amazon.
Early estimates suggest they may retail for around $60 in the US, although final prices could rise due to taxes. There’s speculation that Samsung might introduce the Buds Core during its Unpacked event on July 9, or they may decide to focus on the Buds 3 lineup instead, as there have been no solid indications of a US release.
