Prepare for price shifts: Samsung launches new watches and foldable devices

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is just days away, and a new report from WinFuture has provided insights into the company’s pricing strategies for its latest products. Excitingly, it appears that Samsung may lower the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 while increasing the cost of its new smartwatch models. As we gear up for the summer 2025 Galaxy Unpacked, anticipation builds over the newest foldables and wearables announcements. Pre-registration is available, offering a $50 credit to eager fans.

Beginning with the foldable phones, reports from European retailers suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will maintain its price at €1,999 in Germany, mirroring the cost of the Z Fold 6. Given last year’s controversial price increase that didn’t reflect significant improvement in features, this decision to keep prices steady seems sensible. However, prior leaks hinted at a potential price hike, so we remain cautious until the official announcement. On a more surprising note, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to see a price reduction to €1,099, which is €100 less than its predecessor, the Z Flip 6.

Although it’s uncertain if this price cut will carry over to the United States, where the Flip 6 starts at $1,099, it would be fantastic news for European consumers if it holds true. In contrast, Samsung’s smartwatches appear to be trending upwards in price. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will reportedly launch at the same price as its predecessor, €699 (or $649). However, the standard Galaxy Watch 8 is anticipated to rise by €40 to €50 from the Galaxy Watch 7’s introductory price of €319.

This would place its starting price around €369-€379. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may also see a price increase to €500, up from €449. While Samsung is investing in enhanced storage and new health tracking features, justifying the price increases remains a concern. Final confirmations will come on July 9th when Samsung launches its new devices, with hopes that the Flip 7’s price reduction will be globally recognized.
