The Members app serves as a comprehensive resource for Samsung users, providing important updates on core Samsung applications, quick diagnostics tools for devices, and battery information. Additionally, it includes a community section where users can connect, share insights, and seek assistance to maximize their Galaxy experience. Recently, Samsung announced an update to the Members app, set to enhance the user experience with a more streamlined interface. However, this update comes with certain drawbacks, as it removes three popular features.
The latest version, 5.4.00.10, began rolling out in late May. One of the removed features is “My Products,” which previously allowed users to view a detailed list of all their registered Samsung devices. This section benefited users by enabling them to manage their devices and easily access information such as device names, types, models, serial numbers, and specifications. The second feature affected by the update is the “Register” section, which facilitated the registration of new devices.
By registering a device, users gained access to exclusive offers, expedited tech support, and simplified warranty tracking. Unfortunately, this functionality is no longer part of the app. Lastly, the “Request Service” option has been fully removed from the app. Previously, this feature redirected users to the Samsung Digital Service Center.
Now, users will have to visit the official Samsung website to manage their devices or register new ones. While Samsung has not publicly explained the reasoning behind these changes, it seems likely that they assessed user data and found these features were not frequently utilized.
