Gmail has long been a helpful tool for managing our inboxes, featuring a convenient Unsubscribe button in promotional emails. This means users can easily opt out of unwanted subscriptions without navigating through unfamiliar websites. Building on this feature, Google introduced a dedicated subscriptions hub for mobile users in April, allowing them to view all their sign-ups and easily unsubscribe with just a tap. However, until now, this feature was only available on mobile devices.
The good news is that Google is expanding its “Manage Subscriptions” functionality to the web version of Gmail. While users may not be able to completely erase all their newsletter subscriptions at once, they now have better alternatives for managing them. On mobile, the Manage Subscriptions page is accessible right beneath the Trash folder in Gmail’s sidebar. The web version, however, has a different layout.
As reported by Mishaal Rahman from Android Authority, users can find the Manage Subscriptions button in the left panel of the Gmail web app. It’s located within the “More” section, positioned between “Spam” and “Manage labels.” By clicking on this option, users can access a comprehensive overview of their email subscriptions and recent activity. This new hub enables users to list all their mailing list subscriptions in one place. By clicking on a sender’s name, they can view the entire email thread.
If they decide to unsubscribe, they simply hit the familiar “Unsubscribe” button that appears in typical promotional emails. However, it’s worth noting that unsubscribing may not be an immediate process; it can take a few days for the sender to process the request. For those who want instant action, blocking the sender is an alternative solution. Google is currently rolling out the Manage Subscriptions page for Gmail on the web in phases, so users shouldn’t worry if they haven’t accessed this feature just yet.
