The upcoming Pixel 10 series is creating buzz with some notable improvements, particularly in its battery capacity. While many aspects remain consistent with previous models, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is set to introduce the largest battery ever in a Pixel phone. According to leaks, it will feature a 5,200mAh battery, which offers a modest increase from last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL and aims to provide reliable all-day battery life.
Battery performance in Pixel devices has always varied, with some models experiencing excellent longevity while others fell short. The Pixel 9 Pro demonstrated commendable endurance, and Google aims to continue this trend with its latest offerings. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro will come equipped with a 4,870mAh battery that is slightly larger than its predecessor, maintaining Google’s promise of consistent enhancements.
In addition to the increased battery size, charge speeds will also see slight improvements, with the Pixel 10 Pro charging at 29W and the Pro XL at 39W. While these speeds won’t rival industry leaders, they remain competitive. Both models will include a vapor chamber to help manage heat, especially important given the performance characteristics of Google’s Tensor processors.
Beyond the battery and charging updates, the overall hardware remains largely unchanged, featuring familiar display sizes with high refresh rates and peak brightness. The camera systems, a hallmark of the Pixel brand, will maintain their current configurations, although improvements may come from software enhancements, including new macro modes. Storage options will see some significant adjustments; the Pro XL will no longer offer the 128GB variant, instead providing 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options.
The Pixel 10 Pro will continue to have a choice of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, along with 1TB. The devices will be powered by Google’s Tensor G5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM. Potential price increases for the Pro variants have been suggested but remain unconfirmed.
The Pixel 10 is anticipated for reveal in August, with more details expected to emerge as the launch date approaches.
