Samsung is set to launch its next-generation smartwatches and foldable devices, with the anticipated Unpacked event scheduled for July 9th. In the lead-up to the event, customers can pre-register for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, taking advantage of a $50 credit and triple reward points.
Currently, Samsung has initiated the One UI 8 Watch beta program in South Korea and the United States. In the US, the beta version is exclusively available for Galaxy Watch 7 Bluetooth and LTE models on the T-Mobile network, including the Ultra variant.
The new firmware, known as ZYFE, is a substantial update at over 1.9GB, bringing significant enhancements such as the Now Bar feature from One UI 7 to the Galaxy smartwatches. For those interested in participating in the beta program, you can easily enroll through the Samsung Members app available in the aforementioned regions.
Simply tap the banner within the app to register your device. After registration, use the Galaxy Wearable app to download the latest beta firmware; if the update doesn’t appear right away, check back shortly.
The One UI 8 Watch introduces several new features beyond health enhancements like Bedtime Guidance and Vascular Load. Users can expect personalized watch face suggestions, custom tiles support, and potentially improved Always-on Display functionality with media controls.
The update is also likely to integrate full Facer support due to Wear OS 6, which provides access to custom watch faces. While the public beta starts with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, the stable build is expected to roll out alongside the newly anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic in late August or early September.
Prior to that release, Samsung may expand the beta program to include older models like the Galaxy Watch 5.
