Samsung is enjoying a successful start to 2025, with positive reception for its Galaxy S25 series. Anticipation is building for the upcoming Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which are expected to carry a sleek design. This week at the Unpacked event, Samsung is set to unveil its first-ever Fan Edition (FE) foldable, generating excitement among fans. Additionally, there’s another FE smartphone in the pipeline that many are eager to see later in the year.
Since April, details about the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE have been circulating. This device is rumored to feature either the Exynos 2400e from the previous year or MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset. Notably, it will come with an enhanced 12MP selfie camera, a step up from the 10MP in the S24 FE. Expectations are high for the S25 FE, especially regarding its design.
Reports indicate that it will have slimmer bezels and a thinner overall frame compared to its predecessor. Initially, it was believed that this slimmer profile resulted from a new internal layout or compact components. However, recent insights from South Korea suggest that the introduction of flexible OLED display panels may contribute significantly to its design. Unlike older devices that utilized rigid OLED panels built on stiff glass substrates, the new flexible OLEDs can be produced on adaptable materials, facilitating a reduction in thickness.
The Galaxy S25 FE is projected to measure 61.4 x 76.6 x 7.4mm, making it slightly thicker than the standard S25 but slimmer than the S24 FE. It will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and an impressive peak brightness of 2,600 nits. However, this array of upgrades may lead to a price increase, with estimates suggesting the device could retail for $700, up from the previous year’s $650.
