Discover the New Look and Features of Google’s Revamped At a Glance Widget

Last month, Google began internal testing of a redesign for the Pixel Launcher’s At a Glance widget, also known as SmartSpace. This new design is now starting to take shape, bringing fresh features to the widget that highlights important contextual information from various categories such as Doorbell, Weather, and Fitness. Currently, this information is presented in plain text on the top left of the screen, but the upcoming ‘Gemini Space’ redesign promises to change that. The redesigned Gemini Space UI will resemble Samsung’s Now Bar, which displays contextual information on Galaxy devices.

It is confirmed that the new layout will be integrated across the home screen, lock screen, and Always on Display, as reported by Android Authority. This up-to-date information will be drawn from user activity within Google products and personal activity on the device. Features like live sports scores and birthday reminders will be readily available in a swipeable format. Furthermore, the new tool will provide customization options, allowing users to choose the types of updates they want to see in the At a Glance widget.

Expected features include toggles for relevant financial information, along with a newly discovered ‘Daily Hub’ designed to simplify daily tasks. The Daily Hub will likely function similarly to Samsung’s Now Brief, providing AI-driven briefings tailored to user preferences. Currently, both Finance and Daily Hub features are still under development and cannot be activated yet. Users are anticipating the launch of the redesigned At a Glance UI along with the Pixel 10 series, which gives Google a little over a month to refine the experience before the official release.
