FCC Approval Confirms Essential Connectivity Features for Pixel 10 Series Before August Launch

The Google Pixel 10 series is set to be unveiled on August 20th, just over a month away. This highly anticipated lineup includes the standard Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Notable features are expected, such as the base model finally introducing a telephoto lens, and the foldable variant is anticipated to have a larger cover screen and an increased battery capacity. Recently, the series has been through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), revealing significant connectivity features that hadn’t been disclosed previously.

According to the FCC listing, the Pixel 10 will support wireless charging, with Qi2 Ready capabilities, although it will not include built-in magnets as found in some other devices. The base model will also maintain its predecessor’s valuable Satellite SOS functionality but will not support Ultra-Wideband (UWB).

In terms of color options, the Pixel 10 is expected to be available in Obsidian, Frost, Lemongrass, and Indigo. Moving up to the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL, these models will support a variety of connectivity standards, including UWB and Thread connectivity, in addition to Wi-Fi 7.

The Pro series will come in Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, and Jade colors. Interestingly, there is no mention of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold passing through the FCC, but it is expected to retain UWB support and Satellite SOS service.

The Pro Fold might feature a 6.4-inch cover screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, an upgrade from the previous model’s peak brightness of 2,700 nits. Additionally, the series is anticipated to be rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, further enhancing its appeal.
