Google Messages is developing an enhanced solution for RCS issues.

RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging currently has limited popular applications available, with Google Messages standing out due to its pre-installation on nearly all Android devices. This widespread accessibility undoubtedly contributes to its popularity, even as opinions about its merits vary. Google is actively enhancing the app by introducing new features and improvements every few months, and these updates offer users a sneak peek into the company’s ongoing development efforts.

Recently, Android Authority uncovered a forthcoming feature aimed at assisting users who encounter difficulties during RCS chat registration. This feature, designed to expedite the troubleshooting process, is relatively straightforward yet effective. It includes a new “Details” button, which will likely be incorporated in the Google Messages app’s RCS chat settings.

This Details button is visible only during the registration process, and when users tap it, a pop-up appears displaying vital information such as “Status code,” “Status details,” “Carrier,” and “Device ID.” This data is essential for the Google support team to resolve any issues users might face. Traditionally, users are required to gather and report this information when seeking help, but the new feature aims to simplify this process for those experiencing difficulties.

Additionally, the pop-up features a “Submit feedback” button, allowing users to send detailed reports directly to the support team, enhancing communication about any problems encountered. However, it is important to note that this Details button is still under development, and its future availability in a public release remains uncertain. Despite this, the timing of this feature is ideal, as Google is actively encouraging more users to adopt RCS messaging through Google Messages.
